Brook Lopez Net Worth $21.7 Million
Although born in North Hollywood, Brook moved to Oak Harbor, Washington in his second grade, so he could be closer to his older brother, who at the time played basketball at the University of Washington. A year later, he moved again, this time to his current hometown of Fresno, California where he went to San Joaquin Memorial High School and started playing basketball. In 2005, he enrolled at Stanford University, where he continued playing basketball, and his talent saw Brook honored as an All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention and named to the All-Pac-10 Freshman Team. In his sophomore season, he entered the All-Pac-10 First Team and All-American Third Team, and then in March 2008 declared for the NBA draft, being selected by the New Jersey Nets – his net worth was established.
Brook played his first NBA game in October 2008, helping the team win. He was soon selected to compete in the 2009 NBA All-Star Weekend Rookie Challenge, and finished third in the NBA Rookie of the Year vote, also being named to the All-Rookie first team. In addition, he was named NBA Rookie of the Month in January and February 2009. However, in his 2010/2011 season, Brook suffered several injuries which resulted in his lesser results and team’s overall poor record. Nevertheless, Lopez managed to achieve a full recovery, and in July 2012 the Nets re-signed him to a four year contract extension. A year later, he was selected by NBA commissioner David Stern to play in the 2013 NBA All-Star, his first All-Star appearance. Brook continued his more than satisfying results, and in April 2015 he was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week, but then two months later decided to become a free agent, and opted out of his contract with the Nets. However, just a month later, Lopez re-signed with the Nets to a three year deal. Lopez became the team’s all-time leader in blocked shots with 863, passing George Johnson’s record, and also the second player in Net’s history to score 10.000 points with the team. In June 2017, Brook was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, which he currently plays for.
When it comes to his private life, there aren’t even any rumours of relationships for Brook. Lopez has a twin brother, Robin who also entered the NBA and currently plays for the Chicago Bulls.
